Kahealani originally from Kane'ohe, O'ahu, Hawaii. Currently, resides on the island of Kauai. Family operated and owner of Tiare Apetahi Polynesia. Studied under many hula greats and kahuna pule. 1985 Graduated from School of Hula (Halau 'o Kahealani). Under the direction of Na Kumu Hula 'Aulani Newalu Young (Merrie Monarch "1972 Ms. Aloha Hula" ) and Kumu Hula, Patricia Newalu Morton from Kahalu'u-Kane'ohe Hawaii. Kahuna pule practitioner since 2002 with the Temple of Lono.
Her family name Newalu is the name for a Lua Hawaiian martial arts weapon made out of 8 tiger shark teeth. Furthermore, It's her belief, the 3 aspects of Hula, Kahuna and Lua are wili or entwined for deeper purposes known to her kupuna ancestors.
Kahealani brings years of experience as a professional hula dancer, teacher and production manager of Tiare Apetahi Polynesia Show. She was part of a major airlines' performance troupe that promotes Hawai'i as a visitor destination. In the past she was a director of marketing and promotions for a popular Island Reggae music distributor. She was featured in the Japan Na Suteki Hula Magazine. She has won numerous awards in group and soloist competitions as well as beauty pageants - via dance, song, drumming and costume designing.
